Our Story

For Teens, Written by Teens came as a result of a contest for young writers that MacKenzie Press along with Stone Soup Magazine had sponsored.

What became clear, as entries were received, is that there are many extremely talented young writers, particularly middle school and high school students writing high- quality young adult literature.

Thus For Teens, Written by Teens was born!

Our first two titles are the winner and runner- up books from the contest.

Both winning young authors were at the Frankfurt Book Fair in October, where the imprint was officially launched along with MacKenzie Press publisher Nancy Gee

Anya, aged 13

Dark Shadows a fantasy novel is about a world where people can lose their shadows and be sent to another dimension as punishment. When a young girl is banished and sent to this other dimension she embarks on a Hunger Games like quest to not only save herself but the world as well!

Anya Costello
